Palmetto Biotech is committed to putting patients before profit, every day in every way. Amputations are life altering and scary, you can count on us to be your guide. Our goal is to restore hope along with mobility.
Palmetto Biotech is owned by a Prosthetist with a prosthesis.
"Treat others as you want to be treated has a literal meaning in my practice. Let us show you the hope that we've found." - Drew Murrell, Owner, Prosthetist/Orthotist, Amputee
Palmetto Biotech was founded with the vision of creating a patient centered, technologically advanced, full service prosthetics & orthotics practice where the patient's needs come first. It is our hope that everyone who enters the walls of our clinic feels as welcome as they are in their best friend's home.
Drew is a Board Certified Prosthetist Orthotist who grew up in Columbia, SC. After gaining years of experience managing a practice for a larger multi site prosthetics & orthotics company, Drew started Palmetto Biotech with the goal of making patient care as convenient and personal as possible. Drew is happily married to the woman of his dreams, Allison, and is the proud parent of a black labrador retriever named Goober. Drew and Allison are active members of Columbia Presbyterian Church where they enjoy teaching the 4&5 year old Sunday School class and Drew serves as a Deacon.
Drew also happens to be an above knee amputee.
Dave is a Board Certified Orthotic Fitter and Columbia native. Dave may be newer to the field of Prosthetics & Orthotics; however his years of technical experience working for his father at Crossland Dental Labs allowed him to quickly learn the ropes. Dave achieved his COF certification in November 2017.
A team member since September 2017 and a close friend of Drew's since preschool, Dave brings a joyful work ethic to Palmetto Biotech.
Dave enjoys long walks on the beach, listening to his favorite band Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and discussing the finer points of craft beer and bourbon in an unpretentious manner.
